Psalm 47

Our God is King
A song of praise for victory.
1 ¶ <<To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.>> O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
2  For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
.3  He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
.4  He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
  2 - Terrible Or "awesome."
3 - Nations under our feet Subjection is implied. Realizing that the rest of the psalm shows that all who accept are to become the people of God, this would leave the wicked nations to be in subjection. As I see the whole plan, we won't exactly be ruling the wicked but after probation has closed, we will be protected and during the thousand years we will help Christ judge them re2004. Also consider the woman standing on the moon re1202c.
5 ¶ God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
6  Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
.7  For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
8  God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
9  The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
8 - Heathen The word also means people or Gentiles.
9 - People of the God of Abraham Here God is the King of all the earth (v.7), King of the Gentiles, too. Notice that the princes in His kingdom were not just the sons of Abraham. They represent the people of Abraham's God. Bringing all the earth to the worship of God was Israel's mission. This they failed to do ac0753.
